OVERVIEW

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION

The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) maintains and uses the Environmental Conservation Online System (ECOS), a geospatial database of Threatened and Endangered species and critical habitats. To support its response or recovery operations, USFWS searches ECOS as a first step in assessing the presence of sensitive species and habitats. ECOS provides a broad indication of which species and habitats may have been impacted by an event, or which need to remain undisturbed by response and recovery activities to ensure regulatory compliance. General information: http://ecos.fws.gov/ecp/ Critical habitats: http://ecos.fws.gov/ecp/report/table/critical-habitat.html Species table: http://ecos.fws.gov/tess_public/pub/SpeciesReport.do?dsource=animals
