OVERVIEW
RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) maintains and uses the Environmental Conservation Online System (ECOS), a geospatial database of Threatened and Endangered species and critical habitats. To support its response or recovery operations, USFWS searches ECOS as a first step in assessing the presence of sensitive species and habitats. ECOS provides a broad indication of which species and habitats may have been impacted by an event, or which need to remain undisturbed by response and recovery activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
